Our Artistic Director
We are thrilled to announce that Janet Davis is joining us as our new Artistic Director! Janet has enjoyed an extensive conducting career which includes being the Director of Music for several large church programs with choirs of over 100 voices, as well as being the Artistic Director of several auditioned and non-auditioned community choirs.
Notably, Janet was the Artistic Director/Conductor of the Des Moines Choral Society, an auditioned 65-voice choir when the ensemble was awarded the Iowa Arts Council's Best Performing Group in 2001 for the state of Iowa. She has conducted numerous choral/orchestral masterworks with massed choirs of over 300 voices and full orchestras, including Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms at Carnegie Hall.
Janet has a Masters in Music degree, with distinction, in conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey where she was invited to become a member of the conducting faculty upon her graduation. She also holds two Bachelor of Music degrees, summa cum laude, in Conducting and in Voice Performance from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. In addition to the Des Moines Choral Society, she has directed the Alexandria Choral Society, and two choirs at Princeton University - the Princeton Madrigal Society and the Princeton Camerata. Currently, Janet is the
Director of Music at St. John's (Hain's) UCC in Wernersville, PA and is Artistic Director/ Conductor of the Emmaus Chorale in Emmaus.
Nadine Lydic holds a bachelors degree in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she studied piano with Nicolo Sartori and James Staples. Her masters degree in music is from West Chester University where she studied with Richard Veleta. She retired in 2013 after a career of over 30 years as a vocal music teacher in the Boyertown Area School District, last teaching at Boyertown Elementary School. At Boyertown, she was responsible for 5th and 6th grade choruses and show choir, in addition to coordinating all grade level programs at the school. Nadine holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in Music from West Chester University. She also completed additional courses from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has two sons, Kurt and Jeffrey.
